About Me

The reason I embarked on this professional journey was not a very pleasant one. I was an overall healthy child but in my twenties, I started experiencing different health complaints (chronic bacterial and viral infections, newly developed food intolerances, indigestion, chronic pains, bloating, weight gain, SIBO, hormonal imbalances).

After years of chaotic search for a solution and relief of my symptoms, I realised that for these chronic problems I needed to take charge of my own healing. Changing my diet and eating habits helped me realise that optimal nutrition can be a very powerful tool affecting every single cell in our body - its function, gene expression and energy production. This belief inspired me to delve deeper into this concept and start my studies. It now helps me motivate my clients and teach them how a nutritious and nourishing diet throughout life can promote healthy body weight, decrease the incidence of future illness, delay effects of ageing, maintain optimal energy levels and improve quality and length of life.

In my practice I devote enough time to each case and listen carefully to the client’s needs, complaints and personal story. I believe this integrative and personalised perspective in combination with my extensive academic background helps me assess and understand each person in detail (their diet, medical and personal history, biochemical and genetic profile, lifestyle, health conditions, environment). This way I can focus on finding the underlying root cause of the health complaint before an individual protocol is suggested.

My scope of practice also includes recognising obstacles to optimal health present in habits, nutrition misconceptions and limiting beliefs. I am of the opinion that restrictive diets, deprivation or labelling a food “good” or “bad” often leads to a vicious cycle of self-judgement and under-or overeating. This as a consequence could affect negatively a person’s mental health. Therefore I would rather educate my clients about mindful and intuitive eating practices, how to boost their energy expenditure, stress small changes over a long period of time and learn how to make the difference between calorie-dense and nutrient-dense foods. As a healthy recipes developer in my free time, I love demonstrating how this way of cooking and eating can be easy, enjoyable, nourishing and rewarding.
